Friday, May 31, 2002 Posted 01:34 by Del C Annabella daaahling, the eeevil double comment post is taken care of, so that's alright. don't you worry about it anymore {smiley} Thursday, May 30, 2002 Posted 06:01 by Del C i got my HP on video today!!! happy happy joy joy!!! new links to some very congenial Sidekick blogs: there's Hidden Diary -- only it's not so hidden now, is it, Miz "Annabella Spellman"? {g} -- and Sarah's [insert life here] and Shinigami Star's Land O' Doom and Other Stuff, which is Connelly's xanga (i like that word) i don't think Sarah & Connelly know i'm linking to them, but they won't mind. i think. i'll have to add them later to the links on the left. rather alliterative of me there... Trini (my cellular phone) and i have a nice lil interaction going. she's been asking me for several days now: "Why did Darth Vader ask Luke to take off his mask?" (i didn't realize Luke wore a mask! naaah, j/k) A. he wanted to see Luke with his own eyes B. he couldn't breathe any1 know for sure which? i can't decide. please comment with the letter of the correct answer. thank you. British... everybody likes those Brits. You compare with U2 and other famous bands. Your music is very original and different from anything heard on the radio normally. Songs are laid back and relaxed, and you frequently make some pretty weird, er um, original music videos. i like! furthermore it makes sense bcause Thom Yorke's my rockstar boyfriend ^.^ well now, that doesn't seem very flattering, does it? but this kind of pointlessness i can deal with. Tuesday, May 28, 2002 Posted 12:05 by Del C Rearranging the letters of 'Ronald Weasley' gives: Loyal, answered. Loyal new dears. Dearly seal now. Lawyer on deals. Lawyer on leads. Lawyer nose lad. One's lawyer lad. Now yell as dare. Yell now as dear. A dear yells now. Swore and a yell. A yell and worse. Lad nearly owes. Newly arose lad. Yawn or else lad. Really wades on. Really was node. Endow as really. Ears and yellow. Darn yellow sea. Yellow sand era. New royal leads. Early snow deal. Owns deal early. Analysed lower. Any adores well. Nay, adores well. Deny or as a well. Well reason day. Say on well-read. Or easy and well. One yard as well. Ray as well done. Well or sane day. Well, a nosy dare. Well, a nosy dear. Well, a nosy read. Easy well adorn. Well, on sad year. Well day on ears. Earn so well day. Well, so near day. Ear's well on day. Well, say on dare. and many many more.... from anagramgenius.com i like the lawyer ones bcause they make me think of barrister!Ron in AtE how strange the anagram thingy didn't come up with any "red" phrases. Posted 05:57 by Del C today's the day i finally elaborate on my blood fetish i mentioned a long time ago. so. i like blood. i don't like looking at actual blood, just the idea of blood in relation to romance, like in "Yellow" by Coldplay: "you know, for you i'd bleed myself dry"; or in Fushigi Ygi when Hotohori said he'd give all the blood in his body for Miaka. afaic any1 who can work blood into a declaration of love like that has some serious cred in the romance department. this is kind of gross of me, i know -- but there it is. my cellphone logo now says "no rest for the wicked" -- i downloaded it off my service provider's set of promotional logos for Spider-Man, and i think it's *wicked*, even though i don't recall the phrase in the movie. my bro says it might've been the Goblin who said it {shrug} it bugs me that i haven't said anything Ron-related in awhile, so i'm letting it be known that one of my email addies used to be i.love.ron@the-ministry-of-magic.co.uk (this was when another.com's email was still free, and Ellie still had her rons_in_my_closet@butterbeer.co.uk and ron_is_a_god@harry-potter-fan.co.uk addies which always made me smile, bless her Ron-loving heart...) and now it's iloveron@theburrow... truth be told, i love him anywhere {eyebrow waggle worthy of Groucho Marx} when i get home i'm posting a whole bunch of interesting anagrams from his name. the 4 right chords struck again recently and got me all teary. this time it was "Still Fighting It" by Ben Folds. Everybody knows some John Mayer sezziness in bnw to prettify the ol' blog bcause it's been looking rather dull lately. Saturday, May 25, 2002 Posted 07:53 by Del C first of all, thanks to Ben for his reassuring comment. the computer i was using at the time of my last post is rather wonky bcause of a combination of Windows MeTM and the ISP i had to use. when i used another computer, in the library with another ISP, the post showed up just fine ^.^ anyway, here's the final part i'll be blogging of that 20-questions type thingy Lu sent me a long time ago: Girls fill this out on guys!
Wednesday, May 22, 2002 Posted 01:57 by Del C oh my blog, why dost thou confound me so? i was made a frantic wreck by the "Page not found" message earlier and now, what have i done to deserve thy wretched un-updatedness? wilt this message even show after i clickest the "Post" button-thingy? we shall see... Tuesday, May 21, 2002 Posted 06:23 by Del C last night i watched Event Horizon and now i'm definitely smitten with Jason Isaacs, particularly his amazing eyes. i think he'd make a wonderful Lucius Malfoy. in fact he makes me want to audition for the role of Narcissa, which would be pointless bcause i look nothing like her and i'm not old enough, but i sure would like to hang out with him and Tom Felton {lol} come to think of it, i'd seen Jason before in Black Hawk Down but i was too distracted by Josh and Orli and Ewan that time to even take note of the fact that he was bald in the movie! and now i'm listening to Jason's voice in some British commercials, the "Mr. McGregor" one is adorable. i am such a sucker for a man with a British accent ^_^ ooo...some Jason quotage: "I've been on set to try on my outrageous costume and tried to hang around for as long as I could to see how they are doing things. It's very exciting. "I wasn't sure whether to take the part as I'm quite well known for playing villainous characters, but every kid I know phoned me up and begged me to take it." Jason admitted he had not read author JK Rowling's books before getting the role, "but I have now devoured them." *link* hmmm...i can hardly wait to see him in his "outrageous costume," among other things... let's pimp Harry out now; i wish i could write a Harry & Heddi story -- one with Animagus and Ladyhawke elements to it. then there's my stalled Harry/Blaise fic {sigh...} or what about Harry/Morag (just bcause i think her name's cool and i think she must be a funky Scottish chick like Shirley Manson, Sharleen Spiteri and Annie Lennox) and Harry/Sally-Anne (that's just *begging* for a romantic comedy type of thing) much, much later, perhaps a Harry/Gabrielle. if i think about these bunnies long enough, something might come to me. Monday, May 20, 2002 Posted 02:32 by Del C awwwright! after procrastinating for i-don't-know-how-long, i finally updated Light Reading, my list of favorite R/H fanfics. they're all completed or one-shot fics, except for a few, like After the End and Manu's When Words Aren't Enough, of which i have such a high opinion that i included it anyway. i just hope she writes more of it soon though {hint hint} the only trouble is i may have to reupload it again soon bcause i forget to include some fics and then remember them later, and i keep finding new & wonderful stories ppl are writing all the time...it's getting more & more difficult to keep up @_@ Friday, May 17, 2002 Posted 01:52 by Del C update for Lucy on the Viktor/Fleur-Jake/Lucy fabfic...i mean, fanfic. my finger slipped there {g} i am blocked. urg. any1 know some good unblocking spells? i mean, i've got all these lil ideas about them and all, but i don't know how i'm s'posed to throw them all together and make them remotely coherent. i think i'm good at thinking of titles and stuff, but quite bad with the actual writing. anyway i am very pleased with the title for this one, it's to be called Lucent Dusk -- i loved that phrase from the moment i saw it in "The Bronze Horseman" by Alexander Pushkin. i think i'll post my favorite Pushkin poem later. right. it's now later and this is the poem of which i spoke:
i read this translation in National Geographic, i think it's by Walter Arndt although i'm not 100% sure. Tuesday, May 14, 2002 Posted 06:31 by Del C another pointless thing about me that will prolly make you look at me all strangelike: i very much dislike Lancelot. it annoys me no end how he's portrayed as the perfect romantic hero when Arthur and Gawain (my favorite knight) are so much more interesting. plus he was played by Richard Gere, who just makes me go "ehhh..." afaic JH Brennan's Grailquest books are right on the money -- he doesn't think much of Lancelot either. i just need to find Castle of Darkness, Gateway of Doom, Voyage of Terror, Kingdom of Horror and Tomb of Nightmares so we can have the complete series. Monday, May 13, 2002 Posted 16:29 by Del C the ol' biorhythms seem to be demanding that i blog. so. Who Are You in the Band? Drummer Talk about intense. You take everything to a whole other level. You're a passionate person, and you search for ways to channel that passion, be it beating the crap out of a drum kit or kickboxing some poor, helpless sucker to the mat. Like blink-182's Travis Barker and Korn's David Silveria, everything you do, you go all out. There is no such thing as half measures or letting things go. That's why drumming is for you -- the more driven and enthusiastic you are, the better you are at it. It's all about full-on, bang-'em-up action, rock star style! hey, Chels, looks like i might be qualified for one of those career choices of yours {g} and i'd rather think of myself as more like Lenny Kravitz's drummer Cindy Blackman, as opposed to either Travis or David. heh. Thursday, May 09, 2002 Posted 06:47 by Del C the ol' imood's been changed from delirious to delicious just bcause Lucy called me that {lol!} last night i laughed myself silly watching Crayon Shin-chan. emphasis on the silly; i don't even really know why i am so amused by it. i guess i just have a thing for ridiculous anime comedies. let's see, i also love Hare Tokidoki Buta, about a boy and his pig with weird powers; Takoyaki Mantle Man, a patently absurd series about 5 little superheroes made from 5 little pieces of Japanese snack food; Mojacko!, about a space creature who looks remarkably like a beach ball covered with fur; and Lupin III -- the premise of this 1 may not be as absurd as the others but the stories certainly are {smirk} ooo! lupinthethird.com has stats on my favorite Lupin III character: Height: 5' 9" Weight: 139 lbs. Hair: Black Eyes: Black Profession: Thief Nationality: Japanese Age: Unknown Preferred Weapon: Zantetsu-ken Nagaraboshi Tuesday, May 07, 2002 Posted 01:04 by Del C You are the Dragon. In medieval Europe, dragons were considered mostly evil and a generally bad omen. Christianity linked the dragon with Satan because of the dragon's snake-like apperance. However, to the Orient cultures the dragon was a symbol of widom and royalty. It was a benign animal and the fifth creature of the Chinese zodiac. It resided over the east and the sunrise. It was also said to bring rain and the springtime. The dragon is interesting because it combines all four elements: air, earth, fire, and water. It could fly, had the horns of a ox, breathed fire, and resided over the moon. What mythical beast best represents you? Take the quiz! works for me; i actually am a Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac. this quiz thing was brought to my attention by Ellie's journal. Monday, May 06, 2002 Posted 17:13 by Del C WOOO-HOOO!!! {slamming self into wall} Damon Albarn, i adore thee. thou art a god. well...demi-god at the very least. thank goodness for Ria's LJ. Posted 04:01 by Del C the commenting system has been switched over to YACCS, so i could have a count. but now i've lost all the lovely comments from before... {bawl} Sunday, May 05, 2002 Posted 08:03 by Del C my blog and Lucy's blog used to be like, the Little Twin Blogs (Sanrio reference. Sanrio's the company that unleashed Hello Kitty upon an unsuspecting world. personally i prefer Pochacco bcause the 3D-textured CG-rendered version of him looks so adorably marshmallowy as to be almost edible; Badtz Maru bcause he's got attitude; and Kerokerokeroppi bcause my sister once made a joke about him that still cracks me up when i think about it) well, about our Little Twin Blogs, once upon a time we both used the Sandbox by Night blog template and Lucy said we might as well have co-blogged bcause we were frequently mentioning each other or saying things to each other on our respective blogs. later i changed my template but retained the Sandbox by Night color scheme, so we're still pretty similar. now i've thought of a less cutesy way to describe the relationship between our blogs: it's that our blogs are symbiotic. This quiz was created by Krazy K. Take it here! My Dave Matthews song is... This quiz was created by Krazy K. Take it here! unlike Ria, whose LJ led me to these quizzes, i do believe i am BSB {lol!} and i'm "Two Step" too! lucky me, it's a cool song! Thursday, May 02, 2002 Posted 17:38 by Del C since i didn't catch Luce online all day, i think i'll post snippets of the first AIM conversation we had on april 23, 2002. me: i guess this is where i insult you then try to make friends with you Luce: ooooh can you do that please so i can mock you on my blog? me: sorry, but no. i am much too insanely intelligent for that Luce: not that i can get to my blog at the mo'...but you'll have some great insults like "you live in a box!" and "Your a dork!" (gramatical errors included) me: not intelligent enough for the likes of me! 8-) Luce: lol me: there was a creepy guy who called me up on my cell phone last nyt, though. i think i'll make fun of him Luce: lol did you know him, or was it a random calling? me: he thought my name was Jen and he said his name was Jack or something like that... i felt like telling him i only do Pacey Luce: lol people can be so irritating me: i know! i wonder how he got my number... Luce: maybe he just dialed some numbers or maybe even his pocket dialed them...like my purse does sometimes...someday i'm going to call them me: lol! i guess so...whatever. he didn't even seem interesting enough to talk to. he sounded kind of drunk or something. Luce: oh well that sucks...i would never make a random call and not be interesting! me: dang straight! ;-) Luce: especially if i were drunk me: if you're going to be drunk, you might as well be an interesting drunk. Luce: right? be obnoxious at least...scream obsenities at passersby...do something me: i like drunks who ramble and tell me bits of information they wouldn't say if they were sober. which i can then use for blackmail purposes Luce: lol...fun thing, that is...taking advantage of drunks... me: yeah well, if they didn't get drunk in the 1st place i wouldn't b messing w/ them! Luce: lol it's their own damn fault! me: that's right! Luce: and if they could spill things or vomit...the more the better me: i'd prefer figurative spilling, not literal :-P Wednesday, May 01, 2002
Posted 00:57 by Del C something weird happened while i was having breakfast (tuna & coffee). that Jewel song "Break Me" came on MTV. i kind of hummed along with it, but i don't really know the words so i was just listening to the tune when suddenly my throat kind of choked up and i could feel tears welling up behind my eyes for no good reason. this isn't the first time it's happened either. once i was listening to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and then i started thinking of Albert Schweitzer and Africa and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, all of which made me just start weeping uncontrollably, much to the discomfort of my father and brother who happened to be in the same room. i believe Stephan Jenkins and 3EB alluded to the phenomenon in "Semi-Charmed Life": the four right chords can make me cry. Bach gets me right in the solar plexus; i think his is the music of the spheres. apparently Douglas Adams thought so too, in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency -- i'm checking my book and cantata number six got a nice little mention. and i strongly suspect that whoever wrote some of the older BSB songs knows the four right chords too. that's the only explanation i have for why i still like them {shrug} hn. funny how pseudo-intellectual i get when i've had coffee... |
