OK, it's romance novel synopsis time: let's say you're a young woman who got knocked up at sixteen, and you get left behind by the guy who knocked you up and had to raise your daughter on your own. then when you're thirty-seven, your daughter, who is now twenty-one, gets married, and at the wedding is the guy who knocked you up. not because he's the father of the bride, but because it turns out he's a cousin of the groom's mother. but wait, doesn't that make the bride and the groom cousins also?

if you were the mother of the bride, would you object to the wedding? i would've. but then my mother was an only, so she didn't have brothers or sisters, she had cousins. in my case, even thinking that one of my mother's cousins' kids is good-looking feels a bit like incest. but that's just me; i'm not British like the people in the romance novel. apparently the British don't mind the occasional marriage between cousins.

but i'm going to have to get through the rest of the book by telling myself that the father of the bride and the mother of the groom are only stepcousins or someone somewhere was adopted.

blueberry & hazelnut . . . Pringles?!

yesterday i was grocery shopping and i saw this product:

i was quite perplexed by this bizarre development in snack food. there was also lemon & sesame flavor, but i was OK with that idea since lemon & sesame are fine with savory food. but blueberry & hazelnut?!

interrobangs aside, i went on with my grocery shopping and bought Marty's Baconette instead. i had to poke the bag down from the top shelf using my cell phone. still have to find out whether i like it as much as the no-pig chicharon.

have forgotten which of my RL peeps fwded me the message below, but if you got it too, you should prolly take it with a grain of salt (which is what one should do with a lot of these fwded emails, really) just scroll down a bit to read the part where the allegations made in this message are refuted.

Subject: A simple information....a serious problem

I just happen to have received a very important information about something
we most often drink... read on and see what I mean...

Just a few among us might be aware of what a "SOFT DRINK" is made of... One
popular brand is Coca Cola... here's the "REAL THING"...

Have a look at the wrapper on a Coca-Cola 1.5 liter bottle and in the ingredients label you will find phosphoric acid in it. Minute quantities of ethylene glycol are also used (which is acknowledged in the soft drink world for making it really chill). This is popularly known as anti-freeze which prevents water from freezing at 0 deg C and instead drops it 4-5 degrees with minute quantities. This chemical is a known slow poison in the caliber of arsenic. So, if you manage to drink about 4 liters of Coke within an hour or so, you can die.

Read along and give up these dangerous things. Be natural; have flavored milks, tender coconuts, buttermilk, and plain water instead of these "soft" drinks.

Guess what's the pH for soft drinks, e.g. Coke? PH 3.4! This acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops building bones at the age of about 30.

Softdrinks do not have any nutrition value (in terms of vitamins and minerals). It is high in sugar content, carbonic acid, chemicals i.e. colorings etc.

Some like to take cold soft drinks after each meal. Guess what's the impact? Our body needs an optimum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius for digestive enzyme functioning. The temperature of cold soft drinks is very much below 37 degrees or even close to 0 degrees Celsius. This will dilute the enzymes & stress the digestive system. The food taken will not be digested. In fact it will be fermented! The fermented food produces gases, decays and becomes toxin, gets absorbed by the intestine, circulates in the blood stream and is carried to the whole body. Hence toxin is accumulated in other parts of the body, developing into various diseases.

Think before you drink coke/Pepsi (or any soft drink) again. Take water or natural juices instead. Have you ever thought what you drink when you drink an aerated drink? You gulp down carbon dioxide, when nobody in the world would advise you to drink CO2. Two months back, there was a competition at Delhi University "Who could drink the most Coke?" The winner drank 8 bottles and fainted on the spot-too much CO2 in the blood. Thereafter, the principal banned all soft drinks from the college canteen!

While this might have been an extreme measure, their results do provide some food for thought.

Did you know that soft drinks use chemicals in them that cause immense harm to you. Someone put a broken tooth in a bottle of Pepsi and in 10 days it DISSOLVED! Can you believe it? Teeth and bones are the only human parts that stay intact for years after death. Imagine what the drink must be doing to your soft intestines and stomach lining!

Request to all: Forward this message to your friends to increase the awareness of the great "Assumed soft drinks".

You can take this precaution for yourself, for your friends, and for your families. I would not require to forward this to all of them.. you can simply print this out and share it to them... you can do whatever you want to do with this information... However, I challenge to show to them HOW MUCH YOU CARE...

God bless!!!
